TTFN: Ta Ta for Now!

Goodbyes are so tough. I much prefer to say “see you later” or as Tigger would say “ta ta for now” because those are way easier. I’ve had to say ttfn to lots of my favorite people this week. Yet, somehow the reality that I’m leaving hasn’t set in. Knowing me, it probably won’t until halfway through next week.

Wrapping up my loose ends has been a struggle. I’ve run the gauntlet of emotions just trying to get to this point. Between packing for this trip and taking final exams I’ve been super busy, but I’ve also had several unexpected hiccups. I ended up making three trips to CVS on Wednesday because my insurance company wouldn’t let me have a three month supply of malaria pills. Things just kept piling up and I may have just turned in my final exegesis paper from the Charlotte airport (sorry, Brennan!) but at least now my course work is complete and I’ve officially survived my first year of seminary. *insert hallelujah chorus here* Ive enjoyed just over a day at home with Mom and Van to “rest” before my trip. That rest really meant last minute trips to the store and repacking my suitcase. I treasured these moments at home and already miss my fam dearly. This picture was taken just before we said goodbye. Van’s obviously thrilled I’m leaving.... can’t you tell?

Anyway, the time has officially come. I’ve spent the past six months preparing for today and now it’s finally here. I’m currently in route to Kenya and will be taking off soon. I’ll be getting on and off of planes for the next 23 hours. That reality hasn’t quite set in yet... but ready or not, here we go! ~ Much love from Nell somewhere in the sky PS: Folks have been asking how they can pray for me this week so here are a few prayer requests:

for my Momma as we just said a tearful goodbye

for traveling mercies and smooth plane rides

that I would be culturally sensitive as I adapt to my new surroundings

that jet lag and first day jitters don’t get the best of me when I arrive

for safety and good health throughout the entire trip
