Choir Retreat and Farwell Dinner

Friday morning I taught PPI for the final time to the class 8 students. I taught about Tabitha which was a fun challenge because I’ve never taught about her before. It was so fun to spend time with the kids before leaving.

In the afternoon, we loaded up in the car to go on the choir retreat. Mama Faith is a choir member and Pastor George was in charge of leading a couple sessions. I just went along for fun! We stayed at the Jaquanaz Resort in Naromoru. It is pretty new and is owned by a couple who lives in our estate. We did several sessions and ended up leaving midday on Saturday.

Keep scrolling for group pictures and selfies of the retreat.

Here’s a picture of me leading the morning devotion.

Below are me and the Georges. I was so thankful to spend time with some of my friends on the retreat.

I spent Saturday afternoon doing laundry and starting to organize myself to pack.

In the evening, we left to have dinner out. When we walked into the restaurant, half the session and their spouses were there. We hand a very nice dinner together at a huge table so we could all fit. After dinner, Pastor George taught a brief lesson from 1st Timothy.

After that, the session members started presenting me with gifts and more gifts. They just kept coming. I was overwhelmed by their generosity. They blessed me with many Kenyan gifts to take home. They were even kind enough to pick out gifts for my mom.

PS: I’m sorry I’ve been MIA on the blogging over the last few days. We’ve had a very busy schedule and I have been completely exhausted. Writing has been moved to the back burner but by the end, I will still have posted once for each day of this journey.
