Sunday Prayer Requests

Today will be my first day worshiping at Sukari. After that Pastor George, Florence, and I will be traveling to their other home out in the country to spend the night and our day off tomorrow. Since I just found out that we are traveling I must post now because I won’t have WiFi tonight or tomorrow.
Here are a few prayer requests that have come up this week:
Patience: I’m in a culture that obviously functions very differently from my own. I I’ve been conscious to be culturally sensitive in everything I do. Unfortunately, that’s not a two way street. I’m frequently being told that my culture is wrong and that Americans should change the way they do things. I need patience to continue loving them as I have been called and not let my frustrations get the best of me.
Better sleep: I’m still struggling to get enough sleep. Simply functioning during the day requires so much mental energy and the jet lag is still going strong.
Stamina: I’m still settling for what feels like it’s going to be a long internship. I’m already feeling run down (perhaps that’s just the sleep deprivation). Being away from home is very hard and getting through this experience is sure to be challenging.

Also, I would like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to the two most incredible women I know! I love you Momma and Nanny and I wish I could be with you to celebrate today!
