Truffula Trees

Is it just me, or do African trees look like they are real life versions of trees one might see in a Dr. Seuss book? One of the first things I noticed about Kenyan scenery was the beautiful plants and trees around here. They’re all so unique and unlike something you would see in the US. I constantly find myself mesmerized by the plethora of pretty trees around here. Whenever you expect a tree to have short chubby leaves, it has long narrow ones. The same goes for the tree trunks. Sometimes they unexpectedly have huge thorns or vibrantly colored flowers. They are all so beautifully quirky. The picture above is a Candelabra tree or as I lovingly call it the cactus tree. It’s the weirdest one by far! The trunk bark and roots all look like a regular tree, but then the branches turn into cacti. I’m not sure about names of the rest of these beautiful creations, but here’s some pictures anyway.
